Breather Vents permit free exchange of filtered air for gear cases
vented to atmosphere. Rugged and corrosion resistant, some
breather vent models
can be adapted to incorporate oil separators for special
applications. The basic model of breather vent passes air through a filter
media stopping solid particles. A micro metal filter (100
micrometers or finer) is offered as an option for use in areas
where high temperature, corrosive vapors or fine filtration issues
exist.
The
most commonly used sizes are listed. To order a micro filter
breather, add suffix "MF" (i.e. M810MF). Type 1
breathers are available with splash-proof cover, add suffix
"V" (i.e. M810V).

Breather with Check Valve
All type 2 breather plugs may be adapted to employ a rugged, reliable, elastomeric check valve which checks flow in either direction at 1-4 psid. Consult our engineering department for specific details.

High Capacity Breathers
These two units provide the dual capabilities of high dirt handling capacity and high air exchange at low pressure drop. Model M636 has zinc dichromate plated steel threads and hex, an aluminum cap, and a foam based filter. Model M1330-1 is fabricated from Delrin Plastic and has a stainless steel filter for all-around corrosion protection.
